Chaired by the Director of the Myer Foundation’s Melanesia Programme at the Lowy Institute, Jenny Hayward-Jones, roundtable participants including Derek Brien, Director of Communications at the Pacific Institute of Public Policy, and Odo Tevi, Governor of the Reserve Bank of Vanuatu discussed the lessons for Pacific Islands political parties from the recent Vanuatu elections and their implications for efforts to introduce political party legislation and other reforms to increase political stability.
Australian Labor’s involvement in the activity was part of its ongoing commitment to building dialogue and strengthening political parties in Asia and the Pacific.
