International Project's Manila visit fosters greater engagement with Philippines political parties.
Date: 13 June 2007
From 12 to 17 October 2006, Australian Labor international projects representatives visited Manila to develop options for greater engagement between the Australian Labor and the Philippines.
They conducted a series of meetings with prominent political parties including Akbayan!, the Lakas Christian Muslim Democrats and the Philippine Liberal Party. Additionally, the team met with key civil society organisations such as the Philippine Council of Young Political Leaders (PCYPL) and the National Democratic Institute (NDI) for International Affairs. Labor will continue its engagement with Philippines’ political parties through a series of bilateral and multilateral programs.
