The ALP opened its doors to reformers in Indonesia's main political parties for the Victorian State Election campaign, 20 - 25 November 2006.

Date:  15 March 2007

The targeted study mission exposed the delegates to the strategies, technologies and values used in Australian political campaigns.

Eight representatives from Indonesia's most prominent political parties were selected for the tour from scores of applicants.

Indonesia only adopted democratic elections for the legislature and the presidency in 1999 and has had only two elections since that time. Building on Labor's commitment to engage with Asia, ALP International Projects will continue to provide training and advice to Indonesian political parties as they adapt to democratic elections.
