Program news brief

Date:  15 March 2007

Kevin Rudd led a high level delegation to China in November 2006, for talks on Australia-China relations, climate change, political and social rights, and trade.

The delegation included Federal Shadow Minister for Trade & Regional Development Simon Crean, a long term advocate of building links with China; National Secretary Tim Gartrell; Shadow Minister for Industry, Innovation, Science & Research Senator Kim Carr; and NSW branch president Bernie Riordan.

Labor will continue to build on its relations with China across of range of activities in the coming year. We are committed to strengthening dialogue and exchange with China on the key issues that affect all Australians.
